Call for Entry - Go Short 2025
It is now possible to submit your short film for the seventeenth edition of Go Short, which will take place 2-6 April 2025! Please read our regulations closely for all the requirements.
European, Dutch and Student Competition
For the European Competition we accept short fiction, documentary, animation and art films that have been made in (geographical) Europe. The films are eligible for the Go Short Award for Best European Short in three different categories (Live-action, Animation and Documentary). The Dutch Competition is a selection of films made in the Netherlands, from which the best film will be awarded with the Go Short Award for Best Dutch Short.
Go Short is a recognized film festival for the Academy Awards, the European Film Awards and the BAFTA.
The Student Competition will consist of short fiction, documentary, animation and art films made in European film schools. The best film will be awarded with the New Arrivals Award. Go Short is recognized by the Student Academy Awards. Please find the rules here: http://www.oscars.org/saa/apply
Films in the European, Dutch and Student Competition are competing for the Audience Award.
Expanded Cinema: Music Video Competition and VR/XR
Besides the abovementioned competitions, Go Short makes space for different kind of cinematic forms to be showcased at the festival. In our Music Video Competition, we showcase the newest music videos in a space they’re not often seen: the cinema. With our XR/VR program, we explore works that go beyond the flat cinema screen and explore cinema in a three-dimensional reality.
Deadlines for Go Short Competitions
European, Dutch and Student Competition:
- 20 September 2024 early bird deadline.
- 22 November 2024 for all films completed before November 2024.
- 20 December 2024 for films that have been completed in November or December 2024.
XR/VR Competition:
- 2 December 2024 for all XR/VR projects
Music Video Competition:
- 1 January 2025 for all music videos
Entry fee
The film you submit is being viewed by professional curators and programmers. To ensure the quality of the selection process we charge a submission fee. For the European, Dutch and Student Competition the submission fee is 12,50 euros per film (early bird fee is 10 euros) , and for music videos and XR/VR projects the submission fee is 7 euros per film.
