This is the Submission Area of Go Short – International Short Film Festival Nijmegen.

It is now possible to submit your short film for the fifteenth edition of Go Short, which will take place in April 2023! Please read our regulations closely for all the requirements.

European, Dutch and Student Competition

For the European Competition we accept short fiction, documentary, animation and art films that have been made in (geographical) Europe. The films are eligible for the Go Short Award for Best European Short in three different categories (Live-action, Animation and Documentary).

The Dutch Competition is a selection of films made in the Netherlands, from which the best film will be awarded with the Go Short Award for Best Dutch Short.

Go Short is a recognized film festival for the Academy Awards, the European Film Awards and the BAFTA.

The Student Competition will consist of short fiction, documentary, animation and art films made in European film schools. The best film will be awarded with an Encouragement Award. Go Short is recognized by the Student Academy Awards. Please find the rules here: https://www.oscars.org/saa/apply

Films in the European, Dutch and Student Competition are competing for the Audience Award.

Deadline: 23 December 2022

Music Video Competition & XR films

Go Short happily receives international music videos for their Music Video Competition and offers the possibility to submit XR films. More information can be found in the regulations.

Deadlines: 23 December 2022 (XR films) and 1 January 2023 (Music Video Competition)

Works in Progress

Go Short is looking for work-in-progress projects (from development stage to rough-cut) that don’t fit in the regular call-for-entries; think about multi-screen films, XR projects, installations, episodical content, interactive online films, (narrative) video games or anything meant for outside the classical screening room. We offer you network meetings with programmers, feedback sessions and are happy to listen to other specific needs that could help your project.

Deadline: 26 January 2023

Entry fee

The film you submit is being viewed by professional curators and programmers. In order to ensure the quality of the selection process we charge a submission fee. For the European, Dutch and Student Competition the submission fee is 10,00 euros per film. For the Virtual Reality and Music Videos the submission fee is 7,00 euros per film. The payment is done through PayPal.

There is no submission fee for the Works-in-progress.
